ASU Drawing I

Drawing I is a class offered by the Department of Art and Design at Arkansas State University. The objective is to attract non-major students to enroll in the Drawing I class. We designed three posters and various other products, including direct mail, merchandise, a website, banners, and social media content. I collaborated with my teammates. I played a role in the overall strategy development and contributed to the creative aspects presented to the client. It exceeded our expectations to be selected by the department and to win the ADDY Gold Prize.

THE PROBLEM

Research has shown that all students at Arkansas State University stand to benefit from the open enrollment Drawing 1 classes offered by the Art + Design Department, yet many students are unaware it is even an option.

THE FACTS

THE ADVANTAGE

A-State Art + Design is the only department on campus that offers drawing classes (as well as other art classes).

THE BIG IDEA

This campaign aims to highlight the observational skills to be gained from taking Drawing 1, and the benefits these skills have on careers outside of art and design.

CREATING INTERACTIONS

A necessary step in building a great interactive brand is to create touch points - places for your customers to interact. Planning these touch points while keeping your customers needs in mind is important.

There are many forms of media that would help raise awareness of your brand and increase interaction. Merchandise, digital media, social media, and guerrilla marketing would work very well with your brand.

THE OUTREACH

Guerrilla Marketing is a great way to cut through the clutter of on campus advertising. It raises you above the competition and get students interested.
